Circus & Yoga Retreats, Training & Performance
30-Hour Aerial Yoga Teacher Training Nicaragua
February 5-9, 2018
Previously a circus-performing lawyer yogi in Australia and Japan, Amy took a break from her corporate career to run away with the circus and do more yoga.
She performed as an adagio acrobat in Australia, studied at the circus school in China, street performed in Serbia, traveled with clowns in Mexico and practiced plenty of yoga along the way.
Amy is a qualified Partner Acrobatics teacher, Sivananda Yoga teacher, and co-founder of CircAsana Yoga.
She teaches CircAsana Yoga at Magnific Rock in Nicaragua, where she also manages the yoga retreat program and coordinates CircAsana Yoga community circuses
"Amy and Saffron together bring to create an amazing course which can expand the yoga community. For me, (as a yoga teacher) understanding the principles of yoga, I really see the magic that they create – and that they spread this to everybody that they meet. To have a set course to study, and to build from, is an amazing gift to be able to spread through the community. I felt honored to be one of their students, and to be here, and I really see that they are amazing light workers."
- Kimi, NZ
"My favorite part was that I felt like I could be me, or as Saffron and Amy would say it, be YOU, because for me, exercise and movement has not always been about perfect instruction, but giving my body what it needs. To have the freedom and a judgement-free environment to just move and experiment in your body, be flexible, and give your body the love, or get out the excess energy, that you need. Everyday I felt so fulfilled – stretched, my hips were warm and juicy - because you had plenty of time for self-expression, but then also guided ways to get into different postures."
- Hannah, USA
"This was an amazing teacher training. There was so much amazing information that was said in only 30 hours, over 4 days. I feel like we learned the amount of information that we could have learned in any training that lasts for a month, which is a great thing! I’ve done many trainings before, and this truly was the first and only one where I feel Saffron and Amy made space for everyone to really feel comfortable. From the very experienced, to first-timers, I feel like everyone felt so safe, confident and loved. Even though there was a lot of nervousness on the last day, it just disappeared immediately when we all got into the room. It was great – I would do it again!"
- Zivile, Lithuania
"I loved this training – this is the 4th teacher training that I’ve done, and the first time I actually felt comfortable teaching – which is a lot – that is a lot of hours, and in just this little 30-hour weekend, I actually felt really good guiding people through this. It was a really comfortable, beautiful, safe space, and amazing women, participating in and learning something new and beautiful and so fun. I’m very grateful."
- Alana, USA

WHAT IS CIRCASANA YOGA?
CircAsana Yoga is a fun blend of acrobatic and aerial conditioning, vinyasa yoga, restorative physical therapy and positive psychology. It works to develop sustainable strength, flexibility, grace and joy.
The acrobatic and aerial conditioning component focuses on the development of functional strength, through connected-upside-down-ness, safe flight and other creative, playful activity. Classes incorporate pulling strength, pushing strength, core strength and active flexibility, leaving you balanced, with a happy core, and ready for any physical challenge.
The vinyasa yoga element explores graceful and creative movement, synchronizing dance, breath and mindfulness to open every corner of you, inspire heart-warming peace and bring you into the present moment.
